Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Services

Here at HoneyMama Doulas, we want to help make the transition into life with your newborn as sweet and supported as possible. Whether your baby comes home right away or requires time in the NICU, we are here to provide compassionate, personalized care for your entire family during this important season.

Currently, I am offering daytime and overnight postpartum and newborn care services, as well as NICU doula support for families navigating a NICU stay.

A typical shift may look something like this. Babies are wonderfully unpredictable, so this is simply an example of what a day or night could include. We will always adjust care to meet your family’s unique needs.

I will arrive at the designated time and check in with Mom and/or Dad to see how the day went and discuss any concerns about baby or recovery. I will review feeding plans, including whether you would like baby brought to you for breastfeeding or if you would prefer bottle feedings during the shift.

If baby is asleep when I arrive, I will allow them to rest until the next feeding. If baby is awake and fed, I will change their diaper, soothe them, and help them settle, if needed. Once baby is settled, I can wash bottles and pump parts, wipe down counters, make some meals/snacks ready for the next day and complete laundry as time allows. However, your care and your baby’s care will always remain my first priority.

At each feeding, I will change baby’s diaper, assist with breastfeeding support if desired, or prepare bottles according to your preferences. After feeding, I will ensure baby is comfortable, swaddled, and ready to return to sleep.

At the end of my shift, I will hand off care to a designated adult before departing for the day. I will also provide a recap of the visit so you can stay informed.

For families experiencing a NICU journey, I also offer NICU doula support. This may include emotional support, education, assistance preparing for baby’s transition home, sibling support, practical help for parents and compassionate care during what can often feel like an overwhelming season. My goal is to help families feel informed, supported, and never alone during their NICU experience.
